Ramon Vela Garcia was born October 31, 1934 in Matamoros, Mexico to the parentage of Juanita Vela and Julian Garcia. He received his formal education in Mexico. Ramon went on to join the United States Marines where he served in Infantry receiving an honorable discharge. Following his term in the military, Ramon entered the workforce and was employed as a Waiter for various restaurants around San Antonio.
