Obituary for Orlanda M. Curtis

Orlanda Marie Daniel Curtis was born on November 11, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas to Willie Charles Daniel and Laura Ann Hill Daniel. She accepted Christ July 14, 1974 at the New Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. J. Johnson Sr. She continued her Christian journey many places but whenever she came back to San Antonio, Texas she would always restore her membership at her home church which was New Union Baptist Church. Orlanda received her education in the San Antonio Independent School District attending Dorie Miller Elementary, Gates Elementary, Jeff Davis Middle School and graduated from Sam Houston High School. She continued her education attending San Antonio Community College. Orlanda entered the workforce working in the Food Service industry at many Hospitals, Restaurants, and Catering Services. She had a passion for music which was driven by her younger years where she played the Clarinet in middle school and high school and was a part of the marching band at her high school. Orlanda pursued many interests throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading, playing music, and singing with choirs and groups. But more than anything Orlanda loved to spending time with her family and being “MeeMaw” to her grandchildren.
