Mae Belle Beshears, age 82, passed away March 9, 2022, in her home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her husband and children.
Mae Belle was born on June 11, 1939, in San Antonio, TX to George and Margaret Thompson. She was the 6th child out of 9, and the youngest girl. She married her husband, Alfred Lawson Beshears on February 28, 1959, they were married for 63 years and were blessed with 3 children.
Mae Belle loved her family deeply and is survived by her husband Lawson, and her children, Son Lawson Dale Beshears (Lucy), Son, James Bryan Beshears (Shelly) and Daughter, Suzanne Simpson (Mike); grandchildren, Natalia Loper (Kevin), Kylie Lovell (Heath), Kacie Lehman, Amanda Sherwood (Brandon), Hope Simpson, Kyle Simpson and Kayla Simpson; great-grandchildren, Lawson Norris, Emmeline Lovell and Eleanor Lovell.
Brothers, Roy Thompson (Patsy) and Alvin Thompson (Judy), Sister-in-law, Henrietta Yaeger (Larry) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Margaret Thompson. Sister, Irene Jones, Francis Clippard and Agnes Jones. Brothers, Manus Thompson and JC Thompson.
Mae Belle was a devoted Christian woman with a strong faith-based life. She taught at a Christian school for years. She found joy in sharing her faith with young people. Mae Belle was a very creative person. She expressed her artistic spirit sewing, creating elaborate bulletin boards for her work and church and in painting.
Mae Belle kept a very organized and neat home that she was very proud of. In her retirement, she cleaned homes. She loved the labor of sharing her gifts of organization by creating clean, neat homes for others. She loved doing this for her family.
Mae Belle loved to travel with her sisters and sister-in-laws. She took wonderful journeys to Alaska, Hawaii and throughout the United States.
Most of all, Mae Belle loved her God. Her daily life was truly an example of walking in the footsteps of Jesus.
