Edward Eugene Richardson, Sr. was born September 15, 1935 in Lavernia, Texas to the parentage of Carrie Wash and Leon Pete Richardson, Sr. Edward received his formal education completing high school and going on to further his education completing two years of college. He later enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country earning an honorable discharge. Following his military career Edward began working for Southern Pacific Transport as a Truck Driver.
