Charles Edward Wolford Sr. was born January 8, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to the late Garfield Wolford Jr. and Berniece Adelle Williams. Charles accepted Christ as his lord and Savior at an early age. He received his formal education in the public school system. Charles felt it was more important to assist in the caring of his siblings, so he dropped out of school.
Charles soon entered the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War.
