Audree Zondola Poole Dobbins Ball was born in Davilla, TX, September 10, 1915 to Lindsey and Evelyn Mays Poole. She was the third of six children. Audree and her five siblings (all deceased) grew up in Cameron, TX, Milam County. Following high school, she relocated to Austin, TX and lived with her sister, Betty. There she completed two years of college and majored in Education and Home Economics. Audree received a temporary First-Class Elementary State Certificate and taught briefly in Cameron, TX, before moving and working as a Seamstress in San Antonio, TX.
