Alphonia Coleman, Jr. entered this life March 2, 1950, to the union of Mary and Alphonia Coleman, Sr. He received his formal education in the San Antonio Independent School District, graduating from Sam Houston High School. Alphonia, Jr. was known to many as, “Bubba” or “Al”. Al accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Live Oak Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. R. James.
